Newborn photography shot on location in Johannesburg using natural light.
Meet newborn baby Aimee, this tiny little girl arrived at the beginning of April and despite predictions of her possibly being in the region of 4kgs, she hatched out at a petite 2.9kgs. I did her newborn photography session at her home, using natural light and as you can see Aimee was wide awake and super chilled throughout her debut photo shoot.
The best time to take newborn photos is within the first 14 days of a baby’s arrival, they fill out very quickly and after the 14 day point, they lose their ‘newborn’ look. It’s also tricky to fit bigger babies into the various props I use for newborn photography.
I also did a maternity shoot for Aimee’s Mom, who is one of my best friends, that you can view by clicking here – http://emmaobrien.com/location-maternity-shoot-bryanston-pine-forest/
Aimee has several four legged siblings, here’s one of them getting in on the photo shoot action. The cats did a disappearing act!!
