This e-shoot in Braamfontein was an absolute blast. As it wasn’t just an engagement shoot, it was also a baby announcement shoot, we factored in some extra props. Sasha and I had chatted before the shoot and after a peruse on everyone’s best styling friend, Pinterest, she decided on some balloons. What Pinterest didn’t help with however, was how to control said balloons when the wind is blowing. Cue some hilarious comedy moments with the letters. We later discovered that the way to keep them lined up and cooperating is to tie fishing line to the tops and bottoms – hindsight is a wonderful thing.
After cursing Pinterest and carefully placing the balloons back into the car (we only lost the ‘W’ so Sasha and Nic went home with TINS, LOL) we took a stroll around Braamfontein to capture some romantic pics.
I really enjoy shooting in urban areas of Joburg. The back drops and lighting scenarios are plentiful and Braamfontein on a Sunday afternoon was quiet enough to not be bothered by loads of people, but busy enough that we felt safe.
We ended the shoot with some photos on the bridge, which in the late afternoon looked beautiful and so iconically Johannesburg.
