Toddler Taming

Toddler Taming

Timing is everything when photographing small children.  Invariably there is a window of opportunity for smiley, happy photos that is only open for a limited time, so I have to work efficiently to make the most of it.  This little girl was no exception and our shoot was timed in between naps to ensure we got some good shots and kept Gabby happy throughout.  The shoot took place in the family garden and involved me running around after Gabby with the camera to grab shots as she explored and played.  She was slightly unsure of me to start off with, so I got some quizzical looks but she soon warmed up with the help of a very sprightly grandma jumping around behind me!  There is very little point in attempting to pose small children as their attention spans are so short, so I tend to go with the flow and aim to capture relaxed natural shots of them doing their own thing as these pictures illustrate.
