Twins! Literally double trouble.
I’ve been capturing the growth of this family for a couple of years now, so it’s always lovely to see them and be able to create some more memories for them. This shoot was pretty memorable. Both babies arrived in foul moods and I think we were all wondering if we’d manage to get any decent shots. As many of my clients will tell you, I usually manage to pull something out of the bag despite how it may seem on the day, and this shoot was no different.
You’d never have guessed that whilst Hugo was sitting still and smiling (above) his sister was howling in the background and that when I got the shot of Isla (below), Hugo was crying in his Mom’s arms because Isla had just snatched a pot of bubbles from him.
And that’s pretty much how the shoot went, when one was happy the other wasn’t and vice versa. Their newborn shoot was far easier, you can see them here back when they were smaller and more manageable.
So we just rolled with it and in spite of the temperamental moods we got some beautiful portraits.
I sometimes wish I had a film crew videoing my shoots so you could actually see what happens in between shots. Babies and dogs make for the craziest of photographic subjects, but the most rewarding when it all comes together.
Not a tear in sight and I promise I didn’t photoshop anything.
