Meet Miley, Chloe and Albie. Three little dogs with big attitudes. I met these Daxies at their new baby brother’s newborn shoot, which in fact ended up being more of a dog photo shoot. I LOVE photographing dogs and babies and I’m always super happy when I get to photograph them together.
The majority of my newborn shoots happen in client’s homes. I think it’s much easier as everything is on hand and new parents are generally more relaxed in their own environment. As we had four dogs to include in the photos, home was the only option.
Whilst baby Luke was being fed, I spend some time shooting portraits of the pooches. There was a lovely antique chair in the lounge by a window which I made use of for individual shots.
The four dogs are Mom and Dad’s babies too, so a family portrait was a must. This was a slight challenge (the human baby was no problem at all), but we did it.
Luke did eventually get some newborn portraits taken. I photographed him on his own, with his parents and of course with Astro the Dalmatian.
Before I left, we managed to get a portrait of all four of the dogs together, thank goodness for Biltong!!!
