Meet Josh, a very sweet little boy and his two four legged siblings Gunner and Scarlett. It took 500 million attempts to get this shot right, the dogs were easy, but baby Josh was quite niggly, so careful placement and quick shooting was the order of the day.
I love to include animals in photo shoots, and as this family has several, I had lots of fun.
Mom’s horse starred in the maternity shoot (when she wasn’t charging around).
She wasn’t very interested in the baby bump, so whilst she was looking for grass to nibble on, we took some shots of Mom and Dad.
These guys have ben waiting for a baby for a long time, so I think that always makes a maternity shoot extra special. It’s quite a privilege to photograph such precious memories for people and to be able to capture the pre-baby excitement.
Josh was 10 days old when we did his newborn shoot. I like to work on location on client’s homes when I’m taking newborn photos, everything is on hand and new parents are generally much more relaxed in their own space.
As you can see, Josh eventually relaxed and slept through his newborn shoot.
The dogs had their photos taken whilst Josh was being fed, this is the second time I’ve photographed this beautiful pair. The first time I took their picture was at Le Pawtique in December 2015 with their two Staffie siblings (that shoot was far more chaotic than this one). Unlike Josh who didn’t want to go to settle down on the bed for photos, this pair struggled to stay awake.
Photographing babies and dogs is my thing (I’ve won awards for photographing both), so please get in touch with me if you’d like to create some gorgeous memories of your two and four legged children together.
