Meet the Bicknells!
We had lots of fun during their family location shoot in Jeppestown. It was rather a chilly winter morning, but as you can see, we didn’t let the weather get us down. Josh especially didn’t let the weather affect him. It became apparent after his Mom had asked him what he had on under his hoody, to which he unzipped and revealed a bare chest, that he had dressed for summer and taken his t-shirt off sometime between leaving home and getting out of the car!!!
The shoot had been booked to celebrate Dad’s birthday, so we also got some shots of him on his beloved Harley before we ventured off to find some sun to defrost in and some of Jeppestown’s best graffiti to use as a backdrop for the shoot.
I last photographed the Bicknell family in 2011 when Josh was just two, so it was fabulous to see them all again and meet little Stella.
Part of the brief for the shoot was to create some colourful portraits for the family lounge wall – the photo below against the orange wall is being printed as a 2m long canvas which is going to look amazing!
Keeping kids occupied during a shoot means coming up with fun ideas for poses and activities so they keep smiling and don’t get bored, although I’m not too sure that the elephant quite fulfilled that requirement!!
Here are some more of my favourite pics from the family shoot:
And just for fun, here are a few photos from their family location shoot in Newtown in 2011, taken on a much warmer day. One of the best parts of my job as a photographer is watching children grow up and being able to capture those memories for parents.
