Cats in the studio, are you crazy? These super cute kittens came through to the studio for a portrait shoot recently. I wouldn’t normally recommend that a client brings their cats to the studio, I’d rather photograph them at home to avoid a ‘peeling cat from ceiling’ scenario, baby cats however are a totally different story.
Abbie and Kika were very happy to travel to the studio and pose for pictures. In fact I think their Mom and I were more entertained by their antics than they were by a change of scenery. Our shoot was fuelled by spray on cat nip (the person who thought that up deserves a medal) a purple toy on string and an old piece of masking tape (sorry, Abbie was really taken by this).
Animal portraits must be full of character, that’s always my aim. The kittens were cheeky, lively and full of fun which Is what I wanted to capture in their portraits.
Kika and Abbie were very busy throughout the shoot so I had to be ready to capture their activities and also ultra patient when they didn’t quite want to comply.
We also shot a few portraits with Mom which proved to be the most difficult task with wriggling baby cats.
Got some cats that need to be immortalised? (You know that your cat will love the idea of a specially commissioned photoshoot to encourage their narcissism). Get in touch with me here to find out more. View more cat portraits here.
