Jon and Angie are great friends of mine. Jon and I will have been friends for 10 years this July (I’m not sure he’ll appreciate being reminded of that, LOL), so it was great to catch up when I was in London last December. We were very lucky with the weather. Whilst it was quite a cool day, we were blessed with blue skies and sunshine for the duration of the shoot.
We met outside St Paul’s Catherdral and then made our way across the Millennium bridge to Leake Street near Waterloo station to make use of the very cool graffiti tunnel there.
I absolutely love shooting in London. Everywhere you turn there are cool backdrops and landmarks to include in shots.
We even met a seagull who wanted to have his photo taken (there had to be an animal in here somewhere!).
Lighting is what makes or breaks a photograph and when I’m working outside, I like to shoot when the sun is low in the sky. The light is much softer and more flattering. In SA, I prefer to shoot portraits in the afternoon or early morning, but in the UK in December, the middle of the day was fine (I haven’t been back in winter for ages, so I forgot how little daylight there is).
I had loads of fun during this shoot, and then we rounded off the photo session with some Mulled Wine and dinner in Covent Garden so we could thaw out.
I’m available for shoots in London in March, April and October this year (dates TBC) so please get in touch with me if you’d like to book.
