It’s been a busy few weeks for me in the Centurion studio photographing all sorts of fabulous dogs. Here are just a few of the shots along with the insider scoop on dog photography logistics.

The top concerns I often hear from clients are: “my dog doesn’t sit still”, “I don’t know how you’re going to get shots of my dog, they’re very busy” or “I’m worried my dog won’t behave well and they’ll ruin your studio”. Trust me, I have yet to be outwitted by a dog, even one that’s got perpetual ants in its pants.

If you have a dog that doesn’t travel well, or you have more than three dogs (unless they are small) I can bring the studio to you to make life easier and far less stressful. Some of these portraits were taken in clients’ homes. But I bet you can’t tell which ones….

All that’s needed for a successful dog portrait shoot is: bribery (food or toys), patience (I have lots) and a sense of humour (because it won’t go to plan).

You’re welcome to bring props or outfits for your dog, however, my preference for classic, timeless dog portraits is for them to wear nothing but a smile ;).

Humans are always welcome to be included in a doggy photoshoot, just let me know if you’re going to be in the pics and I’ll advise on what to wear for best results.

Dog photography sessions are available during the week as well as on Saturday mornings. I’ll always do my best to accommodate a last minute shoot, however if you have a specific date in mind, please contact me with a few week’s notice.

Studio shoot packages include prints and every package can be tailored to suit your individual requirements. I also offer framing, canvas prints and storybook albums.

Portraits shoot gift vouchers are available and make the perfect gift for the dog lover in your life.
