One super fun wall art commission coming up…

I’m always up for a challenge (thank goodness really when I spend most of my time photographing dogs) so when a mom of four busy Puglets commissioned me to photograph her sixteen legs of crazy, I was very excited.

Gracie (pictured above), Tobi, Nina and Coco arrived on a Saturday afternoon for their shoot at the studio and the fun began the moment they got out of the car. Moving four Pugs in one direction is entertaining to say the least, we got tangled in leads and there was quite a bit of snorting as we traversed the driveway.

Once we made it into the studio, I had to contend with snuffling photo bombers careering around the room into each other’s photographs. Coco decided to take a bath in the water bowl (her mom had preempted this by bringing a towel) and someone tried to run off with the snack stash.

Mom was after one formal portrait of each creature (easy, tick) and then a photo of the four Pugs together (tick, however not quite as easy, but please see top of page).

I really love Pugs. You’ll often hear folk describe them as little clowns and that is the most apt way to tell a non-Pug person how they behave. I giggled my way through this shoot because I had so much fun. Afterwards I poured a G&T and had a lie down.

This is how the shoot went, summed up in one photograph. Chaos and lunacy.

The Pug portraits are now hanging on the lounge wall of the family home. We made some enormous 70cm x 70cm framed prints of the individual portraits and then a 90cm wide canvas of the foursome portrait.

I love photographing dogs and I love making wall art for my clients, so if some portraits of your beloved dog tickle your fancy, drop me a line. I love blank walls almost as much as I love dogs, so prepare to get creative.
