Studio Dog Portrait Photography

I can fully understand why the Queen has Corgis. The fact that they are the dog of choice for the Royal Family has been whole heartedly embraced by this dog breed and every Corgi I’ve ever met has had an air of regality, Baxter included.

Baxter is the apple of his human parents’ eyes, hence him being brought through to the studio for his own portrait session.

There were bribes in the form of biltong and a new toy as well as words of encouragement for the star of the show.

Here are a few fast facts about Corgis –
They originate from Wales
They are actually working dogs and were used for herding (the only herding Baxter did was of snacks into his mouth, which he was very good at)
The word ‘Corgi’ means dwarf – they do have very short legs for their long bodies
Apparently they are enchanted dogs. Legend has it that they were used by fairies to pull their carts………..

I’m not sure Baxter knows anything about fairies, he does however know how to pose, here’s my favourite shot of the day…

If you have your own super special dog that would enjoy a portrait session, please get in touch with me here.
