Lifestyle & branding imagery for Dotsure Pet Insurance shot on location in Cape Town
Big brands always need new, up to date and unique imagery for their websites, marketing and social media. Earlier this year, I spent three days in Cape Town shooting on location, commercial photos for South African based pet insurance company Dotsure.
The shoots included posed studio portraits, natural light indoor lifestyle photos and outdoor photography of a variety of Cape Town based creatures. This is Cleo, a gorgeous blue and yellow macaw, she was an absolute delight.
Charlie was one of the most unusual models. I wanted to hold him in between shots, but apparently he was grumpy and likely to bite, so I kept my hands well away. Dotsure is the only SA pet insurer to offer cover for exotic pets including snakes, rabbits, parrots and chinchillas, hence the marvellous collection of creatures I got to photograph.

Day two included lifestyle shoots along Sea Point promenade and happily the weather played along beautifully for us.
Local celebrity Mr Miyagee joined us at Green Point Park for a few shots.
Humbug the Poodle matched outfits with his Mom for his photography session.
Cats were a big part of the shoot (they are very popular Dotsure customers) and of course they had to be photographed in a safe and contained indoor space. So we headed off to Infinity Studios for the remainder of the lifestyle photo sessions.
This is Speckle, she attempted to jump on the worktop just after this shot. Possibly a protest because she was due to be photographed outdoors, however the weather on day 3 rained us out!

Dotsure commissioned the more formal studio portrait photos for use on their website and adverts and are using the more relaxed, lifestyle images for their social media accounts.
