An Outdoor Photo Shoot with 3 Weimaraners
Water, wellies and Weimaraners; photography doesn’t get much more exciting!
Late last year, I was commissioned to photograph Israel, Josey, Sunshine and their Mom at their beautiful riverside home. As I’m sure you can imagine, this was a very lively afternoon indeed.

With all the rain, this summer has been rather a challenge for outdoor photography in Johannesburg and we had to reschedule the first shoot date thanks to inclement weather, so it was second time lucky for these photos.

Wrangling 3 very busy Weimaraners was no joke (the behind the scenes footage would have been hilarious) and thankfully we had Grandad on hand to assist with all the bribery and corruption required to manoeuvre everyone into place, even if they only stay put for a nanosecond.

Getting group shots photographed was slightly more challenging than individual portraits, but nevertheless we managed it.

After we’d got the shots we needed with dry dogs, I donned a pair of Wellington boots and we braved wading into the river to get the next set of images.

I was a little apprehensive about wading into a river with my camera in hand (I had visions of some sort of slapstick comedy skit that ended with me slipping onto my behind) however, walking gingerly and very slowly (again, I’m sorry we don’t have video footage) kept me and my kit safe and dry.

I love photographing dogs outside as well as in studio, so if you’d like to enjoy an afternoon adventure with your hounds (water optional) please get in touch with me HERE and let’s plan your shoot.
