Photography in studio and on location at Delta Park, Johannesburg
Brand photography is something I love to shoot alongside photographing dogs and their families, so I was thrilled to be commissioned by Gizzls CDB for Pets to photograph their products and shoot some lifestyle images for their website and social media.

The products were the easy bit, they sat still and behaved perfectly for the indoor section of the shoot.

The dog models weren’t quite so cooperative. Murphy here who is only a youngster but suffers from joint problems galore gave me a bit of a run for my money. His mom pre-warned me that he has ADD which he dutifully demonstrated by disappearing for a full ten minutes during his shoot at Delta Park. I kid you not, he was AWOL for most of the shoot, he left in pursuit of some birds and then I’m not sure what he did for the other 9.5 minutes. We’re hoping the CBD helps with his ADD as well as his joint problems.

Here he is running back to his mom with a leaf (she’d thrown a ball).

He had no problem showing everyone how tasty the treats were though.

Or how much he enjoyed running through black mud.

Murphy’s facial expressions were priceless. His mom has a hilarious nickname for him which I won’t mention here in case it causes offence, but let’s just say he lives up to it and this was a very entertaining shoot.

Next up and a slightly easier candidate was little Chloe. Also a dog with joint issues, this little granny very much enjoyed her stroll through the park and we had 100% attendance for the shoot which made my job much easier. (Chloe’s shoot was done on a different day, hence the lighting variations.)

Here she is hoping we’d all walk off and leave her alone with a whole pack of treats (she’d definitely not be running off if she ate them all).

And demonstrating how tasty the treats are. I know of a few clients whose dogs won’t eat plain CBD oil either hidden in a snack or in their food (the oil doesn’t taste great by all accounts) however I can verify that the Gizzls treats are always a hit, even with fussy dogs.

See, super tasty.

I am definitely no expert on CBD – you’ll need to chat to Jacki at Gizzls about how and why to use CBD depending on your pet’s requirements, she is an expert of note. But shortly after these shoots, our Bulldog was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and I immediately started to give her Joint & Mobility treats which have made a BIG difference – it’s really great stuff and I highly recommend looking into using it for your pets!
