Portraits of senior dogs – Exhibition Date 1st April 2023
The inspiration for my latest dog photography project featuring senior dogs came from my beautiful Jane. I photographed her pretty regularly for most of her life, although I’m not really sure I took enough photos and if I could go back in time, I’d take more, especially of her and I together. This was the last portrait I took of her before her health took a rapid turn for the worse and she passed away in December. She’d been my companion and friend throughout my time in South Africa, so this project is a tribute to her friendship and love.
I’m sharing a few sneak peeks of the dogs I’ve photographed so far for the project which will be exhibited at the Foto ZA Gallery in Rosebank from 1st April 2023.
There’s a grace and elegance to senior dogs that’s difficult to put into words and it’s been wonderful meeting the dogs that’ve come through for shoots so far. I can’t wait to share the full exhibition in April!
