Fine art portrait photography for Centurion, Johannesburg & Pretoria based dogs

Bringing work home with me is one of the catches of being a dog photographer. As well as photographing other people’s dogs in my studio, I also volunteer my time to shoot portraits of shelter dogs in need of homes. Sometimes I keep the dogs I photograph. Victoria (pictured above) comes from CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare). I offered to foster and bottle feed her & her brother. That was back in October 2016, she’s still here.

My latest foster fail is Ziggy. She’s a 2020 lockdown rescue, also from CLAW and also intended to be a short stay visitor…..

Ziggy is proving to be quite the character (she has her own instagram account here) as well as an excellent muse. She loves being photographed and knows exactly what to do once she’s in the studio.

I’ve recently added a new grey backdrop to the studio and I brought my dogs in for a shoot to give it a test run.

Jane here is my only non-rescue dog. She’s a Ridgeback X Weimaraner and also a poser of note.

Although judging from this shot, it would seem my requests for some modelling time bored her.

My studio is conveniently located in Centurion, literally halfway between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Please get in touch with me here if you’d like more information about bringing your own dogs through for a photoshoot.
