Lifestyle photography on location in Johannesburg for brand new South African pet furniture & accessory company Jelico Pets
Firstly I’d like to bring your attention to the fabulous dog bed in this photo, then I’ll let you look at the twosome on the bed. Fable the Border Collie was very happy to sit nicely, her kitty sister wasn’t feeling the modelling vibe quite as much.
I was commissioned by Jelico Pets to photograph their brand new range of South African handmade pet beds and accessories. Our location for the shoot was a fabulous loft apartment in Maboneng, Johannesburg and our models for the shoot were a carefully selected collection of dogs and cats who we hoped were going to give us their best sides (they did, albeit a couple of times from under a bed – not the dogs, just the cats).
Jelico’s ethos is functional yet stylish dog and cat beds, bowls and accessories that compliment homes and keep pets comfy too 🙂
Our models were absolutely brilliant at demonstrating just how to use the bowls and beds. This is Fable’s ‘please refill the bowl’ move.
We chose to use specific dog breeds in the images to give a really accurate indicator of the size of the beds and bowls and how they might fit into a real home.
The Italian Greyhounds were very good, in between doing twitchy dances around the room.
This lovely kitty had to be fished out from under the bed a couple of times, then she was distracted by some string which helped.
Charlie was a very good boy whilst he waited for his treats.
Little Fish kept his eyes on the treats too.
The cats loved this basket bed, it’s great for hiding in.
