London dog portraits in Shoreditch

A rather scrumptious bundle of scruff, this is Rudi the Cockerpoo. I met up with Rudi and his mom when I was in London earlier this year and we spent a super morning strolling around the streets of Shoreditch in search of colourful spots to shoot.

I love me some cool graffiti and there really is plenty to choose from in this part of London. Rudi was celebrating his 6 month birthday on the day of our shoot which made it an extra special occasion. He obviously had no idea about the importance of this particular day, he was just thrilled to be getting chicken and attention.

As well as a plethora of graffiti in London, there are also lots of fabulously coloured doors. Living in a country where it’s unusual to be able to see someone else’s front door, let alone put your dog on their doorstep, the door range is an enormous novelty for me.

Rudi didn’t quite share my doorway enthusiasm, but he sat nicely to keep the humans happy.

This door had a more shabby chic feel to it and probably hasn’t been opened in forever, it did however have a little Banksy next to it 🙂

The face of ‘WTF’ continued as the shoot progressed (we might have run out of chicken by this point).

How’s the Brexit artwork along Brick Lane? These posters are the work of Subdude London and share space with a huge collection of other street art which changes every time I visit.

Stik is another London street artist whose work is all over the show.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a London dog photoshoot without the inclusion of an iconic red phone box. The phones have long since stopped working and most of the phone boxes smell of wee, but they still look fabulous in a portrait.

The angel wings were very appropriate given how good Rudi was for his shoot. Taking photographs alongside busy streets (we were very careful to only have him off lead on very quiet streets) is a big ask for such a small pup, but I think he had a nice time.

I’m in London several times a year, and it’s a city I LOVE working in. Please get in touch with me here for travel dates and availability.
