Newborn portrait photography session + dogs
It’s no secret that I love dogs and I always do a little happy dance when I’m commissioned to photograph a newborn baby by clients whose dogs are also an integral part of the family.

Mozart (above) and Bella (below) joined in for a section of their Mom and Dad’s maternity shoot and they also managed to wiggle their way in to their new baby sister’s newborn session.

Wiggle is the best way to describe what Bella was doing when I took this picture. She’s literally got her paws over the edge of the bed here. She was placed in the middle of the bed to start with and then as I got into position, she leopard crawled towards me until she could go no further.

Gorgeous baby Leyna was the main reason for my visit. Here she is looking cute as a button with her Dad. You won’t often see sleeping babies in the photographs I take. My preference is always to capture portraits of newborns with their eyes open. Their faces are so expressive. Even at just a few days old their personalities start to emerge and I love to be able to capture their individuality in my photographs.

Family portraits are an important part of a newborn session. I also shot maternity photos for this couple, so the newborn family images are a lovely continuation from their previous shoot. I offer a maternity & newborn package that includes a storybook album which is essentially a beautifully packaged visual journal of the transition into parenthood. Not only are these books a great way of preserving memories, tiny humans LOVE looking through them when they get older.
