Boston Terrier baby Baxter photographed at the Radisson Red Hotel

Puppies. Difficult to say no to, they draw you in with their big brown eyes and make you want to kiss them, repeatedly. I often find myself feeling broody for a puppy, however after the last puppy rearing exercise in my house, Alfred would actually kill me if I brought a new puppy home. So I have to get my puppy fix from client portrait shoots.

Baby Baxter here is the mascot dog for the ultra hip Radisson Red Hotel at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. I shot some portraits of him a couple of weeks ago when I was at the hotel photographing the 2020 Pet Prints Magazine calendar.

As only a celebrity can, Boston Terrier Baxter posed like a pro. He even managed to colour coordinate with the decor.

I love a cool venue for a bit of a different shoot. If you’ve not been to the Radisson Red, I really recommend a visit, it’s quite a visual treat.

Plus it’s dog friendly, although I don’t think all dogs are allowed to stand on the furniture like this, LOL.

Dogs aren’t allowed upstairs, however because Baxter is a VIP and very well behaved, we made a quick trip to the roof top bar.

It doesn’t get much better than feeling the sun on your face and the wind in your hair at the end of a busy weekend.
