Photographing dogs looking for homes with BOSS and SSPCA

I was recently commissioned to work on an amazing campaign with BOSS Dog Food that involved photographing dogs at the Sandton SPCA.

Like many shelters across South Africa, Sandton SPCA is always full. An average month sees 300 odd animals come through the doors. Many are lost, some are strays, most are unwanted.

Encouraging people to adopt rather than buy dogs is something I’m very passionate about, so I was thrilled when BOSS approached me to collaborate on an adoption campaign to not only raise the profile of dogs looking for home, but to help feed them too.

BOSS have pledged to send every one of these dogs to their new home with a month’s supply of food AND provide food for five more dogs at Sandton SPCA.

I photographed a total of 21 dogs over the course of four hours, within a week six of the dogs had been adopted, but many of them are still waiting.

If you’d like to give one of these gorgeous pups a home, please contact Sandton SPCA on 011 444 7730 to arrange a time to meet them.

I can personally vouch for all of these dogs and how good natured and fun they are. Most of them are young, all of them are full to the brim with love.

We made a very cool behind the scenes video of the shoot. If you’ve ever been curious to know how I go about getting shots like this of dogs, find out here:
If you’re not able to adopt one of these dogs, please share this post and their images. It simply takes the right person to spot the rescue dog of their dreams online and lives are changed.
