Images captured for Pet Prints Magazine

Sometimes a shoot is about so much more than the photographs. This one, for Pet Prints Magazine, was exactly that.
We met at sunrise on Camps Bay beach, a little too early for my liking, but well worth it for the beautiful morning light. It was the perfect backdrop for Dancers Love Dogs, an organisation founded and run by Brigette Reeve, whose mission is simple but powerful: using dance to raise funds for the sterilisation of dogs across South Africa. Every year, their performances and initiatives make a tangible difference for animals who might otherwise be forgotten.

You can hear more about Brigette’s vision and heart for this work in the video interview here — it’s well worth a watch.

Pet Prints Magazine are dedicated to shining a light on organisations, individuals, and stories that celebrate the bond between people and animals. Their features not only inspire but also connect readers with causes that need support. Find out more about their work and get your paws on a copy of the magazine here.

For me as a photographer, mornings like this are a reminder of why I do what I do. Photographing people and animals together — especially against the beauty of Cape Town’s landscapes — is a chance to capture connection, purpose, and joy in one frame.

If you’d love to capture the special bond you share with your dog — whether on the beach at sunrise or in the comfort of your home — I’d be delighted to help. Get in touch here to book your own session.
